Meet The Family...

Howard Conley

Deckbuilders owner Howard Conley was born and raised in Newport, Rhode Island. Instilled with a strong work ethic from an early age, he spent his early years working with the best carpenters in the New England area. He remodeled beautiful historic homes and honed his carpentry skills. After several years, he tired of the cold winters and decided to move south. Howie started Deckbuilders in 1980. Upon his arrival, it didn't take long to discover a need for quality deck construction in the Central Florida area. With the many lakes, waterfront property and opportunity were everywhere. The combination of Howie's warm, enthusiatic personality and his extensive product knowledge drove early business growth. Today, Howie's innate gift for understanding customer needs allow him to quickly turn client desires into drawings and finished products that exceed customer expectations.

Martha Conley

Martha hails from Macon, Georgia. She and Howie have been married for 20 years. As Deckbuilders grew, Martha and Howie recognized the need for more organization in the office. Martha joined the operation to handle office management, bookkeeping, payroll and other administrative tasks. Martha is usually the first point of contact on all customer service issues.

George Heard

George enlisted in the Coast Guard after school and spent four years in a variety of locations from Kodiak, Alaska to St. Petersburg, Florida. He has participated in search and rescue missions from the Arctic Circle to Tampa Bay. After the Coast Guard, George lived in the Cayman Islands for two years. He took a job with a local building construction company that was flooded with reconstruction work following a direct hit from Hurricane Ivan. The non-stop rebuilding work allowed George to hone his carpentry skills.
